Strawberry Tarts - YASSSSSSS

Okay who doesn't love strawberry toaster pastries?!? They were my absolute favorite as a kid and now you can treat yourself and your family with a homemade version!

First Things First...Pastry Dough!

Don't be stressed if homemade pie crust or pastry dough gives you the heebie geebies:-). Pick up your favorite premade dough or follow the recipe below to make your own.

Crust Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups of pastry flour. We love Carolina Ground 75 Pastry Flour and Bob's Red Mill Pastry Flour.

  • 2 sticks (16 tbs) cold butter. Our favorites are Happy Cow Creamery, Vermont Creamery and Minerva Dairy!

  • 1 tbs sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 4 tbs ice cold water

Crust Instructions:

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk the flour, sugar and salt.

  2. Cut butter into tablespoon sized chunks.

  3. Using clean or gloved hands or a pastry cutter mix the cold butter into the flour until pea sized balls form.

  4. Add ice cold water and form dough into a ball.

  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Making Your Tarts!

  • Remove your chilled dough from the refrigerator and cut it into 8 equal sized pieces and form into a ball.

  • On a floured (all-purpose) cutting board rollout each ball into an 6-8" diameter circle.

  • Spoon 2-3 tablespoons of strawberry preserves or jam into the center and spread, leaving a 1/2" space to the edge.

Forming Your Tart

Pinch or fold over the sides, leaving the center of the tart open. Brush with egg wash and chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

Oven Time!

Preheat your oven to 375 F and bake for 17-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.

Drizzle Time Bay Bay

Top with Sweet Cream Caramel Sauce and E N J O Y!
